Create space to heal, grow, and reconnect with yourself

We often seek support when our old ways of coping aren’t working anymore:

  • “I feel like I can’t stop moving, even when I’m exhausted”

  • “I’m so hard on myself - I don’t know how to turn that voice off”

  • “I’ve checked all the boxes, but I still don’t feel fulfilled.”

In personal coaching, I provide a calm, attuned space where you can access your body’s wisdom and gently tend to the places that need care and compassion.

You may have found that no matter how much you think something through, real change still feels out of reach. As a Certified Hakomi Practitioner, I offer a different approach.

In our sessions, the invitation is to drop below the mind’s story about the problem and learn what the body, heart, and spirit have to reveal.

For me, Hakomi offered healing work unlike I’d ever experienced before, and that’s what inspired me to become a trained practitioner.

My Approach

My personal coaching work is grounded in Hakomi, a body-centered, experiential healing modality that weaves together Eastern principles of nonviolence, compassion, and mindfulness. In Hakomi, we drop into mindful awareness—slowing down, observing what’s happening inside, and gently exploring new possibilities.

I combine Hakomi with practices from:

  • Tara Brach (RAIN) – Recognize, Allow, Investigate, Nurture.

  • Mindful Self-Compassion – Extend care and kindness to yourself.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) – Map out internal “parts” and strengthen your Self.

I also draw on nature, spirit, and ceremony as resources for growth. This could include grief or life transition ceremonies, mindfulness practices, or grounding rituals.

How I Can Support You

My coaching offers a space to listen to what’s happening beneath the surface—so you can begin to meet yourself with clarity, compassion, and calm.

Ease self-criticism and perfectionism

Loosen the grip of “never enough,” quiet the imposter voice, and meet yourself with the same compassion you offer others.

Manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm

Learn to slow down, calm your nervous system, and respond to life’s pressures without losing yourself in them.

Improve your relationships

Understand the patterns that keep you stuck in disconnection, and practice new ways of relating—with partners, family, or your kids—that feel more honest, balanced, and kind.

Explore purpose and direction

Reconnect with what really matters to you, and take steps that align with your values—not just your to-do list.

Navigate life transitions and loss

Whether you’re moving through divorce, grief, or a major life change, find acceptance and trust as you reorient to what’s next.

Meet health challenges with resilience

Whether you’re living with chronic illness or navigating a health crisis, cultivate presence and gentleness as you move through uncertainty.

Get Started

“I came to Sarah in the midst of deep identity crisis and betrayal. She met me with patience, calm, authenticity, and care. Her insight and ability to distill experiences into deeper meaning have been invaluable.

Through our work together, I feel more patient with myself, more relaxed, and more able to offer myself compassion and permission to be with the mess and the unknown of my life.”

FAQs

  • Both coaching and psychotherapy support clients in navigating the normal, and sometimes painful, ups and downs of the human condition. Both professions can help clients gain more clarity, take action, and feel more satisfied in their work and lives.

Hakomi in particular is oriented towards identifying and shifting patterns that were learned early in life. As such, it can touch on issues that could also be addressed in therapy.

Psychotherapists have an additional role and responsibility as mental health clinicians. Psychotherapists are trained to diagnose and treat a wide range of clinical mental health conditions that are outside the scope of coaching.

I do not see clients who have an active mental health diagnosis unless they are also seeing a mental health professional.

For those who have experienced significant developmental or acute trauma, I recommend working with a qualified trauma therapist prior to beginning Hakomi coaching.

  • You don’t need to have experience with meditation to do this work. Any experience where you’ve had a taste of dropping from the mind (thinking) into your body (feeling) is helpful, but not essential. During your discovery session we’ll try out focusing your attention inward and you can see how it feels. Inward attention is a skill that is learned over time, not something innate that you can or can not do.

  • I have completed Hakomi Comprehensive Training Year 1, Hakomi Comprehensive Training Year 2, and Hakomi Advanced Training, culminating is becoming a Certified Hakomi Practitioner.

  • Initial free consultations are virtual. Ongoing sessions can be virtual in in-person at my studio in Phinney Ridge, Seattle.

  • Unlike many coaches, I do not require you to buy a package or pay a monthly fee. 50-minute sessions are $175. Unfortunately coaching is not covered by insurance.

  • This will totally depend on your goals and your budget. Sometimes clients arrive with a specific issue and only need 1-3 sessions to find relief. Other people looking to work on a major pattern in their life may need months, and others are looking for ongoing support. We can work together to find a timeframe that works for you.
